Studio Barn Argyll

When we opened our barn gallery we little dreamed that so many interested and interesting people would wend their way up our track, or that they would come from so many 'airts and pairts'. The year started well with visitors from Holland, Germany and Italy, followed rapidly by more from the USA and Canada.

This season we have participated in exhibitions at the Craignish Arts Festival, Fyne Arts Lochgilphead, and are part of the ArtMapArgyll open studio trail. All these events seem to occur within paintsplash of each other.

Kate MacDonald continues to produce attractive and intriguing textile art, and has recently sold work before she had time to get it framed; we should all be so lucky! Polly has produced another stunning design for the Ludlow Festival and we are pleased to be selling prints. Alexander continues to hoe his particular row, with some slightly disturbing as well as amusing work.

We have some new crafts people: Lucy Griffiths another versatile textile artist; local knitter Sue Hillman whose comfy hats will be a joy to their owners come the cold weather; and we hope shortly to welcome local woodturner Chris Taylor-Balls with his quirky and beautiful bowls.
